Check out this sweet lunar new year present I got courtesy of #rushhourstation ! Inside was a $2 bill, plus I got free dessert. Everyone should go eat there today! #bloomington

Pink Houses was pretty spectacular last night.

Once again my heart is crushed by a leasing company, but some good news, our boy Bounce House is opening for Das Racist tonight. I wish I could go, but I have class. Congrats to Bevy.

GET WEIRD.

Some girl I work with was freaking out because she couldn’t wait in line for John Mayer tickets since she had to be at work and then screamed bloody murder when she found some tickets on sale online. And all the #bloomington tags are high schoolers smoozing over John Mayer.

Just a reminder he’s an asshole who has said some shitty things about POCs and women, so yeah…that’s who you’re supporting. It doesn’t really matter if he was “joking” when he made his comments because he was conscious that his words would be published and relayed to a wide audience, some of whom are POCs and women.

Weird Kid & Comfort, this Saturday, y’all.

If I wasn’t so nauseous, I would’ve enjoyed that sushi more.
friskyflavoredlife:

We just put up our demo.  Listen if you’re interested.

tyler’s in a band with 3 other okay dudes.
So Macri’s Deli from South Bend is re-opening a new restaurant in Bloomington and I’m totally excited to be hired there (hopefully)! Jake and friends are gonna be working there too, so it’ll just be total fun at a job, which I’ve never really experienced before.

We’ve got 3-ish days left in Ann Arbor. It’s weird, but we still have a lot to do. Tyler remains “optimistic” about all of the shit we still have to do, but that just means he doesn’t want to pack. Total boxes packed by Tyler: 3, the rest by me.

We’re stealing Bill & Christy’s idea to go around town and take a shit ton of pictures because I dunno, it’d be nice to remember Ann Arbor in some way. And we never use the multitudes of cameras we have in our apartment.

I really can’t wait to see the new place though. I’ve got visions of cuddling with Molly and Eva (who is definitely coming to IU next semester or next fall.)

Sense & Sensibility/People by Andrew Jackson Jihad

LIVE at Plan-it-X Fest. Listen carefully for something fun in the middle of S&S.

I meant to post this a long time ago, yeah, this song rules. Only wish I was there to witness it myself.

Cafe Django, a cute mixed Asian restaurant in Bloomington. I got their delight fried rice and it was delicious with pieces of pineapple chunks. Their hot sauce is good and spicy too.
I think I’m in love with Bloomington, IN.

I mean I’ve only been here 2 days, but I can barely contain my excitement for this fall. It’s too bad I have to leave on Sunday. Don’t get me wrong, Ann Arbor has my heart too, but in a different way. Bloomington’s only missing one thing though: bubble tea! I think there are more bubble tea places on South U than Starbucks in Ann Arbor. Bloomington already has awesome book stores, comic book stores, a sweet folk punk community, an awesome public library, local grocers, my favourite people (besides Eva, but don’t worry, I’m trying to convince here to transfer here after next year), and our house is pretty much is located in the best location possible, but I’ve only found one place for bubble tea so far (and they only one flavour of milk tea which is my fav). I actually really regret not volunteering at 826Michigan in Ann Arbor, but I think I’m gonna try and be more involved this year on campus and just in general. Being a hermit besides work and school is just not stimulating enough for me (even though I try to persuade myself I’m fine with it).

Now I’m back in the Midwest, where everything’s familiar and sincere.
Everything’s external, nothing happens to you here. In between coasts.

Because I won’t be seeing them tonight :(

Boxcar books is a super cool place. They have a huge zine section, which rules so much. We just dropped off our Monster zine there! I think it’s such a neat thing that they are non-profit and I’d love to volunteer there when we move down here finally.
